The sculptor Saša Zahradník began his single-handed career after he had graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in 1975. Already his early works have shown an indisputable talent oriented towards sensitive, realistic perception of a man and his world. Despite trends and experiments that go along the evolution of the prezent fine arts, he has never stepped back from this journey. Throughout his career and unitl today, his works have always shown original, lyrical and poetic approach towards creating, by which he worships the women´s beauty and positive aspects of life. For Zahradník it is becoming ever more topical to express clearly the thought of the work of art in the sense of modern realism. In relation with classical sculptural tradition he doesn´t hesitate to use rich drapery or attributes (Mask, Lyra, etc.), legibly sketching in the contentual element of sculptures and reliefs. Zahradník´s range of artistic expression is fairly wide. He sensitively synthesizes realism with idealizing morphology. From the realisticaly more descriptive approach and economic styling of shape he crosses the boudaries towards decorative character. Zahradník creates free sculpture and reliefs of monumental results, even though in the context of his hitherto works there are mainly works with chamber and intimate charakter filled with ihned harmony and melody.

The artist´s constant motive is the idealizing depiction of woman. In free sculpture and relief, he comes back to, with exquisite invention and creativity, a great variety of nudities ( mostly in the form of torsos). However, he still finds many different ways to express this ever returning favorite subjects of his. Despite all that, Zahradník is not hesitant towards other subjects that are in demand. Throughout all his career Zahradník has benn succesfully experimenting with materials and techniques. He made many sculptures of wood and stone and recently, mainly of bronze. He is able to respect the properties of the material to make his creative intention look convincingly. He respect the sculptive character of wood-carving and stone-chipping and intelligently uses his modelling ability and routine in soft plastic materials (clay, wax) , which he later brings himself into existence in bronze casting. He can work with natural structures of all materials he uses nad bring them into art.

Throughout the years, the works of Saša Zahradník were accepted both by the experts and the wide public. It was exhibited many times and is included in both state-owned and abroad (National Gallery in Prague, Capital Gallery in Prague, collections of regional galleries, private collections in Austria, USA, Canada, etc.). On the current art market he is sought after for his internal communicatives, rich in perosnal feeling and poetry.
